New York’s financial district finally has a vegan restaurant that may be able to keep pace with the city that never sleeps. Fast food joint Terri, which was started by former managers of NYC’s Candle 79, Craig Cochran and Michael Pease, serves plant-based renditions of comfort food favorites such as chicken, cheddar, and bacon sandwiches and meatball subs. Terri gets its namesake from the mothers of Cochran and Pease (both of whom are named Terri), and the new Financial District addition is the restaurant’s second location—the first Terri is in NYC’s Chelsea neighborhood. Besides the normal fast-food fare, patrons can choose from an array of juices, salads, and gluten-free options, as well as desserts including chocolate buttercream cupcakes.
