Crossroads’s chef Tal Ronnen, VB6 author Mark Bittman, and vegan blogger Quarry Girl were among some of the guests on Good Food’s recent first-ever all-veg episode. Santa Monica-based KCRW station––a National Public Radio affiliate with 550,000 listeners and 55,000 subscribers––airs Good Food each week. Host Evan Kleiman talks to Ronnen about the evolution of his cooking style, dives into Bittman’s personal choice of eating vegan before 6:00 PM, and asks Quarry Girl to name her favorite LA eats. Jeff Gordinier of The New York Times also details the current juicing boom, and Pulitzer Prize-winning food critic Jonathan Gold reviews Matthew Kenney’s raw restaurant MAKE. “It is sort of intellectual food … vegetables put together in an interesting way,” Gold shares.
