Dr. J’s Vibrant Cafe is set to open next month in downtown Los Angeles. Its menu boasts all vegan and gluten-free dishes, and all are made without sugar, yeast, caffeine, or chemicals. The food will adhere to a macrobiotic and Ayurvedic cooking style with an Asian influence. Dr. Juliet Tien, the chef behind the chain, is a practitioner of holistic health with a doctorate in mental health nursing. According to foodie website Eater, the café will serve fare similar to Southern California’s Cafe Gratitude with emphasis on vegetables, whole grains, and meat-free protein, such as Dr. J’s tofu bowl with quinoa, veggies, and ginger sauce. A grab-and-go tea and smoothie bar will also be available.
