Top Vegan Chefs Host Hollywood Pop-Up Restaurant

Top veg chefs from both coasts will collaborate for a three-day, pop-up vegan eatery in Hollywood in June.

Makini Howell, owner and chef of Seattle’s popular vegan restaurant Plum Bistro, will partner with Shawain Whyte, the executive chef at New York City’s Blossom Café, for a three-day, pop-up vegan restaurant in Hollywood starting June 6. Roberto Martin, one-time chef for Ellen DeGeneres, will be involved with the project as well. According to the Los Angeles Times, for a $75 entrance fee, guests will be able to select from dishes such as Trumpet Mushroom Scallops with cauliflower purée and sweet onion jam, as well as Blackened Plum Tomatoes over Cucumber Salad served with wasabi aioli and a sweet soy glaze. There will also be meal pairings with wines from The Vegan Vine.
