New Yorkers are now able to enjoy Van Leeuwen’s creamy cold concoctions without their usual dairy and eggs. The local ice cream company recently released two new vegan, coconut-based flavors: Bourbon & Tahitian Vanilla and Michel Cluziel Chocolate. This is the first time the creamery has had dairy-free ice cream on its menu in the last five years it’s been in business, reports New York Grubstreet. Van Leeuwen uses fresh, local ingredients for its desserts, and has three storefronts in addition to a mobile food truck.
