VegSwap Allows Backyard Farmers to Trade Produce

According to research conducted by the United Kingdom organization Waste Resources Action Program, nearly 7.2 million tons of food is thrown away annually in the UK. A new website known as VegSwap aims to counteract this waste by connecting gardeners throughout the European region so they can trade their excess goods. Users log on and enter the volume and the kind of produce they have, the kinds of produce they want, and the distance from their homes they want to search. VegSwap also acts as a guide for domestic growers by providing gardening tips based on the season.
