New Eco-Friendly Vegan Shoe Line Seeking Funds
Nicora Johns footwear collection consists of manmade leather and ethically sourced materials, and is made in the US.
June 26, 2013
Nicora Johns––an eco-conscious, American-made shoemaker––has taken to Kickstarter to raise money for its 2013 debut line of handcrafted vegan heels, flats, and boots. The manmade fabrics and components that are crafted into the customizable foot fashions are locally sourced, as reducing environmental impact is one of the company’s missions. Donations of $10 receive two pairs of durable shoelaces while contributions of $118 and higher will be gifted a pair of shoes from the new collection. More than half of the $72,900 goal will go to paying US fair-labor wages, and the footwear producer promises to create 10 new jobs in the US for every 500 pairs of shoes it sells.
