The website recently featured an article on how to order meat-free meals even at the least veg-friendly restaurants. In “How to Stick to a Vegetarian or Vegan Diet When It’s Not on the Menu,” raw chef Amber Shea tackled the task of breaking down various cuisines and pulling together satisfying dishes vegetarians and vegans can enjoy alongside their omnivore friends. For example, at barbecue joints, Shea suggests ordering a sweet baked potato topped with sugar and cinnamon accompanied by a side of veggies such as asparagus or grilled corn, or at Italian restaurants, skipping the usual spaghetti marinara and choosing an olive oil and tomato-based dish, such as pasta primavera or spaghetti pomodoro.
