All-vegan food truck Randy Radish––with the slogan of “Bringing Sexy Back One Veggie at a Time”––recently began roaming the DC metro area, receiving a warm welcome from the local community. Natural foods chefs Nancy Jezior and Sharon Lindblad had initially envisioned a bakery or café to dish out their sweet treats and innovative vegan takes on classic American fare, but with lower upfront costs than a brick and mortar storefront, Randy Radish was born. A popular menu item, the Barbecue Sandwich incorporates what E! Online recently named 2013’s hottest vegan food trend: jackfruit. “Our concept since day one has been to present foods most people are familiar with … ours just happen to be made with only plant ingredients,” Jezior tells Compassion Over Killing.
