Violet Sweet Shoppe is the newest addition to Seattle’s burgeoning vegan scene. The bakery offers cruelty-free confectionary goods such as chocolate mousse-filled mocha cupcakes, ice cream sandwiches, and fruit-covered chocolate tarts. Sweet Shoppe’s owners Crystal Rice and Michael Chinn are vegan veterans and ran a bakery in San Francisco before relocating to Washington, and although Violet Sweet Shoppe has been open for several weeks, it has already received a glowing review from the fashion and food blog Daily Candy in a piece titled “We’d Go Vegan Just for Violet Sweet Shoppe.” Violet will also be featured in an upcoming issue of Sunset magazine.
