Veganism’s rising popularity was addressed yesterday on Fox News online wellness show Fox Health, during a segment in which health expert Dr. Manny fielded viewer’s emailed questions. In response to a query about veganism, the doctor noted that research shows that a plant-based diet yields many benefits, notably reducing the risk of developing cancer, diabetes, and heart disease. He also stated that vegans should be vigilant about getting essential nutrients such as vitamin B12, Omega-3 fatty acids, and calcium, and that a well-balanced diet, complete with fruits and vegetables, nuts, legumes, and whole grains, is the ideal way to maintain one’s health while giving up animal products.
