Daphne Medina made vegan cheese at home for a few years before debuting her handcrafted savory treats at local markets, wine tastings, and community events around Denver. Having built quite the following, Medina has decided to wholesale Door 86, her artisan cruelty-free cheese, launching a Kickstarter campaign to collect $7,000 in donations for her burgeoning company. The money will go toward equipment, kitchen space, and ingredients, including cashews and vegan cultures. Medina has experimented with various flavors such as Sriracha Chedder, Brie-style, and Pistachio-Crusted Chevre. Pledging $25 or more earns you a wheel of cheese of your choice, while donations of $40 or more will be gifted three wheels of Door 86 cheese.
