Barry and Jennifer Horton of the San Francisco Bay-area catering company Local Love are looking to open a brick and mortar location to serve their plant-based, fine dining cuisine. The proposed eatery’s moniker, Sanctuary Bistro, is a name that embodies the environmental and compassionate ethics that go into each dish of its organic vegan fare. The Hortons have started a Kickstarter campaign to raise $25,000, which will go toward procuring essential equipment such as sinks and stoves, decorating the interior, and helping the Sanctuary remain fiscally stable during the trying first six months of its opening. A pledge of $25 gets the donor a free entrée and dessert along with a weekly email update on the progress the restaurant is making, while a donation of $50 gets the donor dinner for two, a Sanctuary Bistro tote bag, and a weekly email.
