Austin Mobile Bakery Raises Funds for Expansion
The Lone Star State confectionary-on-wheels Capital City Bakery heads to Kickstarter for crucial kitchen equipment.
August 29, 2013
The health-inspired Capital City Bakery hit the road in Austin last year, supplying residents with vegan treats from the city’s first vegan baked goods trailer. After a year of growing its consumer base and a consistent five-star Yelp rating, Capital City is looking to expand its operation and its menu, which will include at least eight cupcake flavors offered everyday, a breakfast menu, and cooking classes. The Austin bakery has secured a kitchen space and they’ve taken to Kickstarter to raise funds for vital equipment such as a gas convection oven, a countertop mixer, speed racks, and steel prep tables. They aim to raise $11,000 by September 20, and donors who pledge $25 will receive a voucher for six free cupcakes while those who pledge $75 will receive a limited edition tee-shirt created by an Herbivore Clothing designer.
