Celebrity chef Jamie Oliver says he tries to eat plant-based meals two to three times a week, and is encouraging his fans to do the same. In a live webchat hosted by the popular UK-based parenting website Mumsnet on May 12, Oliver wrote that “Vegetarian and well-managed vegan diets are looking very good at the moment in general health terms,” and that eating veg “will save you a load of money.” Oliver has made favorable statements about plant-based diets before, and includes vegetarian and vegan recipes on his website and in his cookbooks. His first all-vegetarian cookbook is in the works, but a title and release date have not yet been announced.
