This weekend, history is being made in Turkey with its first-ever vegetarian festival. A two-day, all-vegan affair held in the city of Kartepe (an hour outside Istanbul), VegFest Turkey will feature food, film screenings, yoga, workshops, and nutrition lectures. According to event organizers, “We are holding this festival in order to eradicate any miscommunications between vegans and vegetarians and to fully explain the benefits of veganism as it should be.” VegFest organizers expect nearly 1,000 attendees at the free festival.
