Nine local bakers will compete to see who can make the best-tasting milk-and-egg-free confection, which attendees will get to vote on. The contest is part of the premiere in Florida of The Vegan Movie—Everyday Stories, a documentary that profiles vegans from different walks of life. Proceeds from the event will benefit Animal Hero Kids, a group that provides free humane programs to schools and supports young animal advocates. The organization’s founder, Susan Hargreaves, promised that “there will definitely be a wide variety, from raw to gluten-free to dark chocolate peanut butter cookies” at the event.
