Mexican bakery El Palote Panaderia in Dallas, TX is now offering an all-vegan menu every Thursday in lieu of its usual fare. Owned by husband-and-wife team Lily and Aurelio Arais (a nine-year vegan), El Palote Panaderia opened six months ago and serves classic Mexican dishes with a vegan twist—including tacos with spicy soy meat, bean tamales, and chocolate cookies with tofu cream cheese icing. Since gaining popularity with vegan Thursdays, the eatery now offers an exclusively all-vegan menu on weekend evenings as well. El Palote Panaderia joins a growing community of Texas-based vegan bakeries such as Reverie BakeShop and the award-winning Cinnaholic.
