Vegan Shampoo Has 2,000-Person Waiting List

Austin-based beauty brand Verb’s vegan dry shampoo has garnered a waiting list of more than 2,000 people. The vegan-friendly brand’s Dry Shampoo Light and Dry Shampoo Dark, two spary-on formulas that allows users to forego washing hair with conventional shampoo, will be available to customers in Canada and the United States on May 1. While the brand is not completely vegan (its Sculpting Clay and Forming Fiber contain beeswax and lanolin), the vegan dry shampoo has gained a following among those looking for animal-free beauty products. The vegan beauty industry continues to grow, particularly in the United Kingdom, where the category has seen a 38-percent increase in sales since February 2017, with brands such as Milk Makeup transitioning to animal-free formulations to meet consumer demand.
