Singer Mýa Launches Vegan Fine Wine

Grammy award-winning singer Mýa recently launched vegan wine Planet 9. Mýa described the new wine as an, “organic, vegan, red cabernet wine with infusions of plum.” Planet 9 Fine Wine ($69.95, including shipping and handling) is only available in certain states and is not eligible for international shipping. Mýa has been a longtime advocate of veganism and spoke with other celebrity vegans last year about her reasons for ditching animal products. “I was awakened to things that my parents didn’t know,” she said in a video made by animal-rights organization People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA). “I was raised on pork … steak, chicken, everything … and everyone in my family pretty much of the older generation has diabetes, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, cancer, so now it’s a lifelong commitment because now I can’t turn back.” In addition to Planet 9 Fine Wine, the singer recently released free online resource Vegan Transition Guide.
