Philly’s First Vegan Deli to Open in Historic Food Hall

Luhv Vegan Deli will open in Philadelphia-based food hall Reading Terminal Market as a permanent vendor in the coming months. Founded in 2015 in Hatboro, PA by couple Silvia and Daniel Lucci and their son Facundo Lucci, Luhv (the city’s first vegan deli) will serve vegan cheeses, brisket, burgers, and soups. “We were interested in Luhv, first and foremost, because they are selling a high quality product that would be attractive to a customer base for whom we did not offer a lot of options,” Sarah Levitsky, Marketing Director for the Reading Terminal Market, told VegNews. “Of course, we have raw foods that fit the vegan diet, but our existing merchants only offered a limited selection of vegan products and prepared foods.” Levitsky explained that there were no other vegan delis in the area, which sets Luhv Deli apart from vendors inside and outside of the Market. “We love the family who owns the business— the Reading Terminal Market is filled with family-run businesses, and the Lucci family will be a wonderful addition to the Market community.” Reading Terminal Market is one of America’s largest and oldest public markets and recently celebrated its 125th anniversary.
