Beagle Freedom Project rescued 10 beagles that were previously used for animal testing.
February 27, 2013
Nonprofit advocacy group Beagle Freedom Project conducted its 11th mission, rescuing 10 male beagles from an animal-testing lab. According to BFP, beagles are used frequently in lab testing because they have a friendly, trusting nature, are inexpensive to feed, and are thought to adapt well to being confined to a cage. The beagles were rescued from a laboratory in the Midwest, where they were subjected to having tubes placed down their throats and into their stomachs. After traveling almost 1,500 miles to sunny California, they will be rehabilitated. The 10 beagles are among the 106 dogs saved by the organization.
