Veg Insurance Rates
PETA petitions lower insurance for veggies.
November 10, 2008
PETA has asked BlueCross BlueShield of Vermont to lower insurance rates for vegetarians, who pose less of a health liability than meat-eaters. The animal-rights organization’s request was prompted by a recent outbreak of E.coli traced to tainted meat in Vermont. Omnivores already pay a price by increasing their risk of diseases such as diabetes, stroke, and heart disease, so vegetarians benefit in more ways than one.
