On Sunday, Chicago Fashion Week 2009 was capped off with the city’s first-ever green fashion show, Vert Couture. Fashions from local, eco-friendly designers such as Bryan McLemore Smith and Vaute Couture were runway favorites, along with the inspiring spring collections presented by students from the International School of Design and Technology. Sustainability wasn’t limited to the cruelty-free designs, as guests were served organic, vegan drinks and hors d’oeuvres. Chicago Fashion Focus sponsored the event, and all proceeds will be donated to the Chicago Fashion Foundation.
