At the height of their pop culture craze, most supermodels elect to use their celebrity for one good cause or another, and Naomi Campbell was no exception. In the late 1990s, PETA approached Campbell, along with four other models, to participate in an ad campaign. The ad read, “We’d rather go naked than wear fur,” and pictured the five models in barely-there poses. This week, however, Campbell’s ethics were questioned by PETA after photos of her modeling fur for designer Dennis Basso emerged. Campbell, who has made attempts to distance herself from PETA in the past, has yet to formally respond.
