California-based airline Virgin America is now offering vegetarian and vegan items on its new fall menu. The new menu features an assortment of healthy options and fresh fruits and vegetables. Additionally, new veg meals are available, including a roasted eggplant and zucchini roulade, vegetables and hummus, layered Mediterranean vegetables, and fall vegetables in a puff pastry with coulis. The airline has also made a switch to serving only cage-free eggs. Virgin America has won multiple awards for its cuisine, including “Best Domestic Airline for Food” in Travel + Leisure’s 2009 World’s Best Awards.
