In an effort to effort to raise awareness about the demand for animal care, Britain’s Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA) will tweet its emergency calls all day on Thursday, December 15. The event will be called a “tweet-a-thon.” The Nonprofit Quarterly reported the RSPCA saying: “On average someone in England and Wales calls the RSPCA’s cruelty line every 30 seconds. The charity received more than 1.25 million phone calls last year and responds to around 1,000 incidents a day.” The organizers of the event hope that it will exhibit the amount of animals who need help in Britain.
