VegNews Magazine Purchased

In a surprise move, VegNews Magazine has been sold to Rupert Murdoch’s News Corporation for an undisclosed sum this week. News Corp., a media conglomerate known for its pro-meat stance, released a statement this morning saying, “Veganism has clearly become an integral part of our society’s future, and we want to be at the forefront of that shift. Purchasing an award-winning publication such as VegNews will be key in steering our business toward a profitable new sector.” Joining such media brands as Fox News Channel and the Wall Street Journal, VegNews will be the flagship title in News Corp.’s newly formed “Health is Wealth” group. VegNews’ co-founder Colleen Holland says, “Deciding to sell VegNews was not an easy decision, but with the rise in consumer opinion of veganism over the past year, the opportunity for VegNews to be a part of this historic transformation was too attractive to pass up.” Magazine subscriptions will not be disrupted during the transfer of operations.
