A California woman has designed Fur & Feathers, a new board game that teaches kids about their relationship with animals and the planet. Creator Chris Durant of Pleasant Hill, CA says that, while she’s not pushing a veg lifestyle on anyone, she wants to teach children that there are alternatives to animal products available. The game also touches on animal adoption, spaying and neutering, and the environmental impact of agriculture. Durant will donate 15 percent of the game’s proceeds to the Contra Costa County Animal Shelter and has another four games in the works. Durant tells Martinez Patch, “I hope children get time with their parents, become empowered to make healthy, compassionate choices, and have a really good time doing it.”
