In a study conducted by the University of Warwick and Dartmouth College researchers and published in the journal Social Indicators Research, a group of participants’ mental well-being was observed as well as the amount of produce the participants consumed. Researchers found that the participants that consumed approximately seven 80-gram servings of fruit and vegetables each day felt the happiest. The study ran from 2007 to 2010 and was comprised of 80,000 people from Great Britain. The study’s findings confirm the belief that a high intake of produce is not only beneficial to physical health, but to mental health as well.
