Raw vegan personal chef and caterer Corinne Rice is seeking funds via Kickstarter to expand her Detroit, MI business Chartreuse. Her start-up venture currently consists of monthly pop-up dinners in historic and exciting venues in the city, serving dishes such as watermelon gazpacho, “crab” cakes with creole slaw and pico de gallo, and almond nougattine with vanilla and cherry marmalade. If funded, the $12,000 will help develop multiple business branches including catering for larger events, monthly brunches and wine and cheese tastings, “un-cooking” classes, and raw packaged foods. The money will be used to purchase kitchen equipment and other supplies, licenses and insurance, and packaging and event-hosting materials.
