Food banks from all over the US are making healthful changes in order to provide people in need with more nutritious foods. Nonprofit organizations Kaiser Permanente and Mazon recently revealed the efforts being made in order to provide Americans with high-quality food through its Healthy Options, Healthy Meals initiative. Some of the participating food banks include California-based Alameda County Community Food Bank, DC-based Capital Area Food Bank, Atlanta Community Food Bank, and Community Food Share headquartered in Colorado. Instead of tossing deformed or undersized produce, California food banks are joining forces with farmers and taking them so that others can benefit from their nutritional value.
