Vegan Doctors & Health Experts Speak at TEDx Event
Neal Barnard, John McDougall, and other prominent vegans discuss the health benefits of a plant-based diet.

Prominent vegan and plant-based health and lifestyle advocates recently gathered in Palo Alto, CA for TEDx Fremont to discuss how diet can impact health and behavior. Neal Barnard, clinical researcher and founder of Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine, spoke about the country’s battle with type 2 diabetes, and how a vegan diet can help combat the disease, while physician and bestselling author John McDougall discussed how starches should be an integral part of a healthy diet. Other vegan presenters at TEDx Fremont included The Lean author Kathy Freston, former Ironman triathlete Brendan Brazier, and Rip Esselstyn, founder of the Engine2 Diet program.
