Fauja Singh, or the “Turbaned Torpedo,” completed his last competitive race in Hong Kong on February 24, reports NBC. The 101-year-old vegetarian first laced up his running shoes at 89 after his wife and son passed away, and when he crossed the finish line at the Toronto marathon in 2011, he became the oldest person to complete the 26.2-mile race. Singh, who also carried the torch in the 2012 Olympics, ran in the 10K division during his last race and completed it in 1 hour, 32 minutes, and 28 seconds. “I will remember this day. I will miss it,” the Turbaned Torpedo told news sources.
