The Humane Society’s Online Pet Pageant Begins
To benefit World Spay Day, HSUS is hosting a pet pageant, where contestants compete for Best Hair, Best Smile, and Ugly-Cute.
February 7, 2013
If the internet has taught us anything, it’s that people are willing to while away their hours looking at pictures of animals. The Humane Society of the United States is capitalizing on all things cute and cuddly by hosting the World Spay Day 2013 Pet Pageant. For a $5 entry fee, contestants upload a picture of their companion animals online and a panel of judges that includes professional photographers Robin Layton and Seth Casteel, as well as actress Tricia Helfer, decide who gets the top spot for Best Hair, Best Smile, Most Photogenic, Best Personality, and Ugly-Cute. Prizes include a $1,000 grant for a spay/neuter program, an engraved collar, and a photo on the HSUS homepage.
