The fast food chain capitalizes on the recent ingredient debacle with a veganized horse burger that has the public saying, “Yay!” and neigh.

No one knows how long horsemeat was in Burger King’s patties, but according to a recent consumer poll, the food chain’s patrons were quite fond of the equine cuisine. To appease the public’s pleas, UK Burger Kings have started serving horsemeat patties, on purpose. In an attempt to broaden its customer base, a few of its European locations also serve a vegan version, made from seitan and other miscellaneous ingredients. “I wasn’t sure at first, but I really like it,” says one vegan customer as quoted by The Guardian. “Ironically, it sort of tastes like beef.” If the horsemeat burger and its plant-based counterpart are popular, they will be served in other Burger King locations throughout the EU, and may make their way overseas.
