University of Florida students are taking animal activism to the next level by rallying for an all-vegan dining hall on campus, reports The Independent Florida Alligator. One of the campaign’s leaders, English and philosophy senior Far Binder, has helped put UF on the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals’ list of Top 10 Vegan-Friendly Large American Colleges by urging the school to implement a Meatless Monday program and start using vegan food labels. Peta2 has joined the effort and helped collect more than 600 signatures last week in support of the cruelty-free dining hall. The Marketing Program Manager for Gator Dining Services Jill Rodriguez told The Independent in an email that the school does not plan to make a vegan cafeteria, but the students are undeterred.
