USA Today recently declared environmentally conscious clothing as the latest booming trend to take over mainstream fashion. Citing emerging technology that allows designers to use synthetic and recycled materials and celebrity endorsements, USA Today reporter Haya El Nasser provides several examples of vegan fashion found in shopping outlets such as Last Call by Neiman Marcus and worn by starlets such as Natalie Portman. According to the article, green fashion has become a $5 billion industry. “People are really caring where their clothing is coming from,” Lucky magazine Senior Fashion Market Editor Lynette Pone McIntyre says. H&M and Urban Outfitters are among the many companies selling eco-friendly fashions.
