Mayim Bialik Defends Vegan Nursing on Facebook
A two-year-old story involving the death of a baby and a vegan mother has caused Mayim Bailik to address the controversy on Facebook.

Mayim Bialik, actress in the hit sitcom The Big Bang Theory, was prompted to take to her Facebook page after she received numerous emails about a 2011 story from France in which a baby who was exclusively breastfeed by his vegan mother passed away. Bialik, who is a staunch vegan and writes about parenting for the website kveller.com, notes that that just because a mother eschews animal products from her diet, does not mean that she is putting her child at risk. “The tragic death of a breastfed baby whose mom was vegan in 2011 is not proof that breastfeeding vegans are a danger to their babies,” she writes.
