First-Ever Animal Rights Festival in Long Island

On Saturday, July 13 the activist group Karuna for Animals will host Long Island’s first animal rights festival. For a $5 admission fee, festival-goers will experience cooking demonstrations, musical performances, and lectures on health and animal-related issues from industry veterans including Jenny Brown, co-founder and director of Woodstock Farm Animal Sanctuary, and Victoria Moran, a plant-based wellness coach and certified holistic health counselor. “The people of Long Island are becoming more progressive, more aware and conscious of the larger issues we as passionate activists are facing,” says Erica Settino, founder and executive director of Karuna for Animals. “We always need more help, more awareness, and more courage to promote change.” The festival will take place at Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Huntington and will run from 10am to 7pm.
