NatGeo Goes Undercover on Factory Farms
The wildlife media group’s new investigative series teams up with Mercy For Animals for an undercover exposé.
July 29, 2013
The National Geographic show Inside: Secret America explores the increasingly controversial animal-agriculture industry by going undercover on America’s factory farms. The show stars husband and wife, award-winning journalists Mariana van Zeller and Darren Foster; they team up with Mercy For Animals activists “Pete” and “Jane,” who conducted undercover exposés in the past on a Burger King dairy supplier and a Butterball turkey farm, which resulted in animal-cruelty convictions. The show’s hosts will also interview MFA Director of Investigations Matt Rice, who will talk about the rise of ag-gag legislature that seeks to make undercover animal industry investigations illegal.
