Dallas is about to get a little sweeter with the opening of Reverie Bakeshop this September. The cruelty-free confectionary is co-founded by Nancy Castillo and Racene Mendoza, who each bring a unique skill-set to the baked goods game. Castillo, who was introduced to veganism through punk rock as a teenager, has a degree in pastry arts, while Mendoza has spent the last eight years cultivating her cake decorating skills. The two have set up a Kickstarter campaign to help offset hidden costs and regulation fees; they hope to raise $10,000 by the end of July. A pledge of $50 gets you a dozen of vegan danishes, a Reverie Bakeshop pin, and your name on the Bakery Thank You Board, while a pledge of $150 gets you a Reverie Bakeshop Tote Bag, a dozen Cakeballs, a dozen cupcakes, and your name on the Bakery Thank You Board.
