The Gothamist recently highlighted the Empire City’s top-tier plant-based meals in its article, “The 9 Best Vegan Dishes in NYC.” The online news source reports that in order for a vegan restaurant to capture the hearts and taste buds of local patrons in a cuisine-endowed city such as New York, the food needs to be extraordinarily good. “It takes an innovative chef to jazz up vegetable-based dishes, and sometimes even the most celebrated vegan restaurants can fall flat,” writes the Gothamist. “But there are still plenty of robust meals that don’t skimp on flavor and texture, and will have even the fiercest of carnivores salivating for more.” Some dishes that were highlighted in the piece include Lunch for Two at Bushwick’s Bunna Café, the Vegan Williamsburg at Brooklyn Mac, and the Peanut Butter and Jelly Doughnut at Dun-Well Doughnuts.
