Vegan Noms, the first vegan dessert food truck in Dallas, will make its premiere public appearance this Saturday, reports The Dallas Morning News. Noms’ owner Allison Catalini is a yoga instructor with no formal baking experience. She began her culinary venture by making cruelty-free renditions of cookbook recipes and serving them to her class. One of her students requested that she cater a corporate event, and Catalini took the opportunity to experiment more in the kitchen and create the delectable menu that is now served aboard Vegan Noms. While the food truck may be exclusively cruelty-free, Catalini notes that her treats have mass appeal. “Even if you eat meat, it’s a dessert that’s flavorful,” she told DMN. She is also looking to expand her reach and serve diners outside of Dallas by obtaining food permits in Fort Worth and Plano.
