The results are in. Sales of non-dairy milks in the United Kingdom are up 155 percent over the past two years—a staggering rate of growth in such a short period of time. As reported by retail analyst, Mintel, an astonishing one in five households now buy dairy-free milk products due to health concerns, perceived benefits, or as a lifestyle choice. And soy, almond, coconut, hemp, and rice have never been more popular stateside as well, where plant-based milks have become a $2 billion industry. The most popular dairy-free alternative in the United States? These days, consumers can’t get enough of almond milk.
