Vegan restaurant chain, Native Foods Café, opened its 21st location today in Washington, DC—the first on the East Coast. Located at 1150 Connecticut Avenue in the Dupont neighborhood, Native Foods is known for artisan, plant-based fare like bowls, burgers, wraps, tacos, and specialty salads. Five more restaurants are slated to open in 2014, including Denver on October 7, a second spot in downtown DC on October 28, and Fairfax, VA in November. Earlier this year, the company received a $15 million investment from two private equity firms, fueling plans to have 200 locations nationwide by 2019.
