Thanks to growing demand and a 50 percent growth in sales over the past year, popular North Carolina plant-based meat company No Evil Foods has launched an online store that can ship chicken-style “The Prepper,” Italian sausage-esque “The Stallion,” and Mexican chorizo-inspired “El Zapatista” to anyone nationwide, according to Latest Vegan News. Made from only six ingredients and wrapped in butcher shop-style paper, the vegan meats were launched in early 2014 at local community markets before expanding to restaurants and markets in the Asheville, NC area. “We didn’t have any major expectations going into this,” co-founder Mike Woliansky says. “At our first farmers’ market, we exceeded our sales goals on the first day, and it just snowballed from there.”
