Youngest Self-Made Female Billionaire is Vegan
31-year old Elizabeth Holmes drinks green juice while running her $9 billion company.
May 25, 2015
Elizabeth Holmes, the youngest, self-made female billionaire in the world, may lead a quiet life reminiscent of Steve Jobs, but at only 31, she’s making a lot of noise. Holmes—a science major-turned-entrepreneur—has made it her life goal to make the processes around blood work simple, affordable, and painless. At age 19, the businesswoman dropped out of Stanford University to launch Theranos, a consumer friendly blood-testing company that eventually propelled her onto Forbes’ list of the 500 wealthiest people in the world. Between TED Talks and developing early-detection Ebola tests, the vegan drinks several green juices a day with cucumber, celery, parsley, kale, spinach, and romaine lettuce. In talking about her life choices, Holmes says, “I would much rather live a life of purpose than one in which I may have other things.”
