America’s Largest Ice Cream Manufacturer Testing Vegan Flavors
Ben & Jerry’s isn’t the only company getting into the non-dairy ice cream business.
June 25, 2015
With Ben & Jerry’s set to unveil a non-dairy ice cream in 2016, Blue Bunny—an 80-year-old company that produces more ice cream than anyone else in the United States—is testing four almond-based flavors in Kroger stores across Texas, Colorado, and Nebraska. These dairy-free products mark the company’s first foray into the vegan ice cream business, saying that “almond milk has become a big trend.” With flavors like vanilla, chocolate, mint chocolate chip, and mocha fudge, the company has not yet released plans for future flavors or expansion.
