Vegan soul food eatery V-Grits has announced its new vegan meal subscription service set to launch in February. The Louisville, KY food truck, a favorite with locals that brands itself as “Southern fried compassion, soul food with a soul,” says its new V-Box will allow subscribers to create healthier vegan comfort foods in their own kitchens with easy-to-follow steps and ingredients shipped straight to their doorsteps. Vegan chef and owner Kristina Addington (who is also the first and only vegan to win Food Network’s Cutthroat Kitchen) says the service sets itself apart with a focus on food education and will be available to locals before being rolled out nationwide. Menu items at V-Grits include Loaded Mac macaroni and cheese and rotating specials such as tacos, beer cheese, quinoa bowls, chicken and waffles, and biscuits and gravy.
